Buttocks Makeover - Ways of Enhancing the Shape or Size of the Butt

Buttock Lift Procedures
The face, breast, stomach and buttocks are the areas of the body I believed all women in general, pay the closest attention to. However, of late, when most women mention anything about major body makeover, they seem to emphasize most on the buttocks and breasts. This is true, in particular for those who are currently not quite satisfied with the size of their breast or shape of the buttocks. In fact, many women are willing to spend their last savings to have either a butt or a breast procedure done.
Desperation Triggers Cases of illegal Silicon Enhancement
Approximately one week ago, while reading one of Philadelphia's local newspapers, one of the news headlines that captured my attention the most was "Black Madam Charged With Illegal Silicon Enhancement." This also made headline on several radio and TV stations. The alleged individual's home was searched and several items that she had allegedly used to perform these illegal buttocks enhancement procedures were found. These items ranged from needles, liquid substance and others.
The extend to which people often go to have a butt procedure done really marvels me; for this reason, this hub will be focusing primarily on butt procedures, the extent to which some people will go to have them done, and the medical risk involves.
What Truly Triggers the Need for Butt Procedures
Over the years, women are commonly known to have butt procedure done. However, of late, the percentage of men who have either done this procedure already or are now interested in having it done, is on the rise. In brief, a buttock job is usually done to improve and /or remove excess sagging buttock and thigh.
Although genetic can contribute to a flat or sagging butt, when it comes to sagging butt, it's primarily due to aging and a decrease in gravity. As people aged, or lose weight, the fat in the butt region tends to drop or sags. By raising and tightening the skin over the buttocks, makes the buttocks appear less saggy, dimpled or wrinkled. At this point in life, many people often become interested in a body makeover to take care of not only the buttock, but also the face which loses its elasticity and breasts that tend to sag.
The Different Approaches Aim at Improving the Appearance of the Butt
In an effort to create the appearance of a more appealing and sometimes more youthful butt, plastic surgeons have come up with several different methods of butt reconstruction. These methods include, buttock lift, butt implants, and butt augmentation. There is also a non-surgical approach known as the "Brazilian Butt Lift".
Butt Lift Procedure -- How is it Done
Based on findings, the procedure is usually done in this manner -- in general, the incision is made at the waist or slightly below the waist. After the incision or incisions are made, excess skin and fat is detached from the soft tissue and removed. The skin is then tightened and closed in layers.
After surgery, a sterile dressing is applied, and the individual will have to wear a compression garment or an elastic girdle that tightly holds the skin in to reduce swelling, and also to help in the natural tightening of the skin.
The results of buttocks lift surgery are visible almost immediately, but it may take several months for the final results to fully develop, according to some plastic surgeons. It is believed that a buttock lift does not add volume or shape to your existing buttocks, but it can give it a sleeker, more toned appearance.
How Safe is a Butt Lift Procedure
The question is however, how safe is a butt lift? All surgical procedures involve some degree of risks, and butt lift is no exception. Following a buttock lift surgery, possible undesirable effects or complications that one may experience include some mild to moderate pain or discomfort, swelling, bruising, bleeding, temporary numbness or tightness.
There is also a likelihood for one to develop an infection. Plastic surgeons usually recommend that the individuals avoid strenuous activity and exercise for up to three months following surgery. It's believed that for a full recovery from buttock lift surgery, it usually takes four to six months, while swelling and bruising usually subside within two to three weeks.
Butt Implants -- The Procedure
Buttock implantation, is also frequently refers to as buttock augmentation. This typically involves a procedure wherein a small incision is made at the midline of the buttocks to create a pocket for the insertion of solid silicone implants. The implant is positioned between muscles and fat. Some surgeons are believed to prefer the placement of implants within the main buttock muscle, because the muscle will form scar tissues that help to keep the implant in place.
It has been said that like breast implants, buttock implants come in different sizes and shapes, and can even be customized; in general, these "natural-feeling implants" help to round out the upper and outer portion of the buttocks, but not the lower parts.
Buttock implantation is usually performed under general anesthesia, typically on an outpatient basis. After placing the implants, the plastic surgeon must assure that both buttocks are symmetrical and look natural before stitching up the incisions. Buttock implantation generally takes about two to three hours to complete.
The Risk Involved
However, there are risks involved, such as shifting of the implants -- causing the buttocks to look asymmetrical. Infection, unsatisfactory cosmetic results, excessive bleeding, anesthesia problems and the need for revision surgery are also some other risk factors.
Brazilian Butt Lift
This method of butt shaping is often refer to as "The secret Leandro's proven TriAngle Training Method." This approach which is non-surgical, concentrates on working all three major muscles of the buttocks from multiple angles to shape, lift and firm the buttocks and thighs. The Brazilian Butt Lift Method, incorporates Brazilian dance, cardio, and signature lower-body sculpting moves.
This Triangle Training allegedly work the three major muscles of the buttocks: The gluteaus maximus, medius, and minimus, working them from different angles to lift, firm, and shape the butt without adding bulk to the thighs.
This physical approach, primarily focuses on the angles. When you work the butt muscles from multiple angles you are not only working those specific muscles. It's believed that you are also working the "heads" of the muscles, the parts that attach to the pelvic bone(which provide support between the upper and lower parts of your body) and your hamstrings. This is what allegedly gives the lift and shape of the butt.
Butt Augmentation
Small incisions are made and small fat droplets are then placed in different levels throughout the buttocks. This is believed to give a more natural shape and feel to the butt. The placement of small amounts of fat in different tunnels, is believed to increase the likelihood that the fat particles will be surrounded by healthy blood supply which will nourish the fat cells and help them to stay alive.
Problem Associated With Butt Augmentation
One of the problems however, with the method, is that it tends to stretch the tissues which can be painful, especially if the implants are placed under the muscle. Individuals are required to wear a compression garment for support for a few days post-surgery.
Cost of Butt Surgery
Overall, buttock surgery can be very expensive. The total cost includes the cost of surgeon's fees, anesthesia fee, operating room fee and the actual implant fee(if required). According to statistics from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic surgery, the national average plastic surgeons' fees for a buttock lift is approximately $4,600 and approximately $4,200 for buttock augmentation with implants.
Medical Insurance and Butt Surgery
However, it will usually cost much more for Buttock surgery if other procedures are done at the same time. Butt plastic surgery is usually not covered by most or all medical insurance providers, due to the fact that in general ,treatments or procedures done purely for cosmetic purposes are not covered by insurance, based on findings.
Conclusion
Although a body makeover and exercise are currently the two main approaches to help combat the effect of aging, (such as sagging butts, sagging breasts, and wrinkling faces etc). Like most procedures done on the face and breast, surgical procedures done on the butt can be very expensive and carry their own share of medical risks.
